Lady Devils sweep away host Lebo

High School Softball: Humboldt 6, Lebo 1; Humboldt 9, Lebo 3

Humboldt softball continued its roll on Friday, getting two wins at Lebo.

The Lady Cubs won game one 6-1 and game two 9-3 and move to 14-2 overall.

Humboldt grabbed two runs in the top of the second but Lebo responded with a run in the bottom of the fourth to cut their lead to one.

The Lady Cubs jumped right back up in the top of the next inning and drove in four runs to push their lead to 6-1.

Starter Rylan Wilhite closed out the final three innings for Humboldt and they got the win. Wilhite ended game one allowing just one run on four hits and two walks in seven full innings. She struck out seven.

Morgan Mauk led the way with two hits in four at-bats to go along with two steals.

Sydney Barker hit a double and drove in two and Kailey Walken hit a triple and drove in one.

The Lady Cubs were error-free in the game.

Game two was tight up front with both teams getting across two runs in the first inning.

The Lady Cubs kept their steady offense going, scoring a run in four of the next five innings to push their lead to 6-2.

Lebo scored a run in the bottom of the sixth but Humboldt finished it all off with three runs in the top of the seventh to get the win.

Wilhite got her 14th win of the season allowing three runs on seven hits and a walk with seven strikeouts.

Mauk, Barker, Aricah McCall and Winter Snyder each tallied two hits in the game.

The Lady Cubs will travel to Erie on Thursday. Humboldt beat the Lady Red Devils 12-0 and 16-0 when they played them at home earlier this season.
