BURLINGTON — In a big track meet, Zach Louk didn’t win the 3200-meter run Monday but he set a Marmaton Valley High record in the race.
Louk took third in the race at the Waverly High Invitational at Burlington Monday. He ran it in 10 mintue 28.64 seconds.
Marmaton Valley’s old standard in the 3200 meters was 10:29.6 held by Randy Kuns. It was set in 1981.
Marcus Miller ran fourth for the Wildcats in the 3200-meter race in 11:03.09.
Louk placed fourth in the 1600-meter run in 4:46.48. He combined with Lucas Hamlin, Carlos Gonzalez and Zack English to take sixth in the 4×400-meter relay race in 3:54.75.
Uniontown High’s Eagles also competed in the meet.
Trenton Miller won the boys’ discus with a throw of 127 feet, 10 inches.
For the Eagle girls, Emily Aikins was third in the 100-meter dash and fifth in the 200-meter dash. Aikins was fourth in the long jump.
Kelli Wilkinson ran fourth in the 3200-meter run and she was sixth in the 1600-meter run.
Both schools head back to Burlington Thursday for the Southern Coffey County High Invitational.
