UNIOTNOWN — Marmaton Valley Junior High’s girls and boys took on Uniontown Thursday in basketball action.
The Wildcat girls won their A-team game against Uniontown 29-17. Lindsey McNeil led the way with nine points.
Mackenzie Tynon and Cheyenne English each had six points. Emily Boyd added five and Samantha Root had three points.
The girls’ B-team game also went to Marmaton Valley, 24-14. Kyla Drake fired in eight points. Tynon scored six points. McNeil and S. Root each had four points. Mariah Root had two points.
In a C-team girls’ game, Uniontown won 6-1. Misty Storrer scored for Marmaton Valley.
Marmaton Valley’s boys came up short, 34-32, in the A-team game. Trent Johnson tossed in 13 points while Colton Alexander added eight and Kohl Endicott had seven points.
“It was our best game of the year. The guys executed offensively and did well defensively,” said Chase Ermel, MVJH boys’ head coach. “We just couldn’t come up with the final shot to get the win.”
Uniontown won the B-team game 36-17. Brady Newman paced Marmaton Valley with nine points and Dane Myers had four points.
