MORAN — Marmaton Valley Junior High’s girls ended their 2021 season light on wins, but heavy in areas that count just as much.
The Wildcats fell 33-13 in the A team matchup and 21-9 in the B team contest.
“I’m proud of the girls,” Marmaton Valley coach Jamie Cole said. “I saw lots of improvement and they played with a lot of heart.”
Jacee Mattox was MV’s key protagonist in the A team game, scoring 10 of her team’s 13 points. Sophia Heim added two and Addisyn Drake one.
Tay Blevins scored seven to pace the Wildcat B team. Jetta Matthews and Drake had two points each. Gabby Briggs scored one.
Marmaton Valley was slated to play Thursday at Yates Center, but those games have been called off, Cole said.
