Postseason assignments are set

Basketball and wrest-ling postseason assignments have been set for Kansas high school teams in 2012.
Wrestling regionals are Feb. 17-18. State wrestling tournaments are Feb. 24-25.
Basketball substates are Feb. 27-March 3. There are eight substate tournaments per classification with winners advancing to the state tournaments, March 7-10.
Iola High’s Mustangs have been assigned to the Kansas Class 4A wrestling regional tournament hosted by Fort Scott High School. Joining Iola and Fort Scott in the regional are all the other Southeast Kansas League teams – Labette County, Chanute, Coffeyville, Columbus, Independence, Parsons and Pittsburg – along with Anderson County, Prairie View, Louisburg, Osawatomie, Ottawa and Paola.
The Class 4A state wrestling tournament is in Salina.
Iola High’s Fillies and Mustangs are in the Class 4A basketball substate hosted by Louisburg. Along with those two schools are Chanute, Fort Scott, Anderson County, Prairie View, Osawatomie and Paola.
Humboldt High’s Cubs and Lady Cubs moved up to Class 3A competition this season. They have been assigned to the 3A substate at Fredonia along with Burlington, Eureka, Fredonia, Neodesha, West Franklin, Central Heights and Wellsville.
Uniontown High will host a Class 2A substate tournament. Joining the Eagle squads are Marmaton Valley, Yates Center, Northeast-Arma, West Elk, Madison, Oswego and Sedan.
In Class 1A, Division I, Southern Coffey County High’s Titan teams are in the St. Paul substate. Also in that substate are Hartford, Bishop Seabury Academy and Waverly.
Crest High will host a Class 1A, Division II substate at Allen County Community College in Iola. Joining the Lady Lancers and Lancers will be Altoona-Midway, Chetopa, Elk Valley and the Kansas School for the Deaf of Olathe.
The Class 4A state tournament is in Salina while the Class 3A tournament is in Hutchinson.
Class 2A’s state basketball tournament is in Manhattan. The Class 1A, Division I tournament is in Emporia while the Class 1A, Division II tournament is in Hays.
