Red Devils return to form in Fort Scott

The Allen Community College volleyball team is on a two-game winning streak after sweeping Fort Scott Wednesday night.

The Allen Red Devils seem back on track after a three-set sweep of Fort Scott Community College Wednesday.

The Red Devils (16-5, 4-2) downed the Greyhounds 25-14, 25-19 and 25-17 for their first Jayhawk Conference victory since upsetting Johnson County Community College (16-5, 5-2) last month and hope to add to their conference win total when they travel to Neosho County Community College (16-8, 3-3) Wednesday.

Allen sophomore middle hitter Chloe Curl had a team-leading 11 kills in the winning effort, followed by freshman outside hitter Lauren Brummet and freshman outside hitter Baylee Belt with four each. Belt also had a team-leading five aces.

Defensively, sophomore libero Audrey Peek had a team-leading 20 digs, followed by sophomore defensive specialist Camila Afonso with 12. Sophomore middle hitter Laurel “Grace” Larimore had a team-leading five blocks, followed by Belt with two.

The Red Devils return to the hardwood Wednesday for a road game against Neosho, who comes into the contest ranked 16th in the most recent NJCAA Division II poll.

First serve is set for 6:30 p.m.
