The Yates Center Wildcats fell to Erie in a three-set nailbiter Tuesday, setting up a crucial showdown for the Three Rivers League title with Jayhawk-Lynn (17-9, 11-0) next Tuesday.
The Wildcats (19-11, 11-1) took the first set 25-13, but Erie (16-13, 10-2) battled to win the next two by matching scores of 25-22. The Yates Center Wildcats can play for a slice of the Three Rivers League title on the road at Tuesday’s Uniontown Triangular.
After losing to Erie in their opener, the Wildcats ended the night on a high note with a 25-21, 25-20 sweep of the Central Heights Vikings (11-17, 7-7).
