PITTSBURG — Stephen McDonald and Michael Armstrong finished in the top four of their respective weight classes at Saturday’s Kansas Kids Wrestling District I, South Sub-District tournament.
The two Allen County Kids Wrestling Club Mat Warriors advanced to the District I tournament this Saturday in Topeka. The top four at the district tournament advance to the Kansas Kids Wrestling state tournament March 27-28 in Topeka.
McDonald, who went 2-1 and finished in a three-way tie for first, ended up third in the high school division’s 185-pound class. Armstrong placed fourth in the 14-and-under 115-pound class.
In the 14-and-under 110-pound class, Cody Conner went 1-2, losing out in the consolation side of the bracket. Also going 1-2 and losing out in consolation action was Andrew Garber in the 12-and-under 130-pound division.
LANE HAMM of Moran, who wrestles for the Parsons Kids Club, earned a trip to the District I tournament. Hamm finished third in the 14-and-under 235-pound division.
