The Yates Center Wildcats are on their first win streak of the 2025-2026 season after defeating Three Rivers League foe St. Paul 43-36 Tuesday night.
Despite trailing throughout much of Tuesday’s contest, the St. Paul Indians kept the score close but not close enough to overcome sophomore forward Cayten Cummings and senior guard Kinley Morrison, who combined for 30 points in the winning effort.
Morrison got Yates Center off to a hot start with 10 of her team-leading 17 points coming in the first half.
As St. Paul focused on heading off Morrison in the second half, Cummings caught fire with 9 points in the second half for second in team scoring with 13 points. Sophomore guard McKynzee Burkholder also got hot in the second half with four of her 6-point production coming in the second half. Junior forward Jayda Rice, senior guard Aubrey Chambers and sophomore guard Khloey Deeder-Kirkpatrick scored a bucket each.
The Yates Center Wildcats wrap up the week on the road at Oswego Friday. Tip-off is at 6 p.m.
