Pastor Chase Riebel spoke from Romans 8 in his sermon, “Good Stuff.” When the Pharisees brought a woman accused of adultery to Jesus, he said, “Let him who is without sin throw the first stone.” There is no condemnation for those who follow Christ.
For communion meditation, Bruce Symes told a story about two families at a church picnic to illustrate the point that we don’t have to eat from a brown paper bag when God has provided a lavish feast. A single mother had scraped together two simple bologna sandwiches to take to the picnic for her and her daughter. A wealthy family sat beside them who had several large baskets of chicken and delicious sides. The single mother kept declining the wealthy families’ offer to combine their resources and all share alike until they said, “You don’t understand — our family loves bologna sandwiches.”
Petra Billings led worship singing, “You’re Worthy of my Praise,” “4th Man” and “Christ Be Magnified.” Other members of the band were Mike and Isla Billings, Ben and Ethan Prasko, Speed Elsasser and Jake Riebel.
