Jack and Jeanne McKarnin celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary Friday, Feb. 23, 2018.
They were married in Reno, Nev., in 1963.
Jack grew up in southeast Kansas and Jeanne grew up in southern California. Jack and Jeanne met on a blind date in 1962 once Jack had returned from serving in the U.S. Navy.
They had two sons in California but made their home in Gas, shortly after.
Jack and Jeanne own and operate J&J Lawn Care. Jack is a retired bus driver; Jeanne still drives a bus for USD 257 in Iola.
