Staying safe can be fun.
That’s the idea behind Family Safety Night, an event offered from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday on the square by the Allen County Multi-Agency Team (ACMAT) in conjunction with the Farmers’ Market.
Local youth can visit booths by about 20 local organizations. They’ll offer games and activities, and will provide information to help them stay safe.
The event includes inflatables, face painting, games and other activities. The Kiwanis will be on hand to give train rides. The event wraps up with a water blast event from the Iola Fire Department.
Giveaways include a drawing for gift certificates to G&W Foods and the Farmers’ Market. The Allen County Sheriff’s Department will offer a drawing for one of two bicycles.
Snow cones and popcorn will be provided for free. Sam & Louie’s will offer pizza for purchase at their food truck.
Some of the participants expected to be on hand include local law enforcement, the library, health-related organizations and more.
