Former Iola City Councilman Austin Sigg and his brother, Ethan, were flown from Sigg’s rural Allen County home after both suffered serious burns in a flash explosion on Tuesday.
Sheriff Bryan Murphy said the pair were working on a vehicle when gasoline ignited, engulfing both in flames.
Both were flown from the scene via helicopter to the University of Kansas burn unit.
