Anderson County reported its first positive COVID-19 case Saturday.

Information about the individual was not reported, but the Anderson County Health Department said it will notify the person and conduct contact tracing to determine who he or she might have interacted with.

The news was announced by the SEK Multi-County Health Department, which continues to recommend everyone practice good personal hygiene and social distancing, and limit travel and activities.

Allen County still has not reported a positive case.

Statewide, 6,984 coronavirus cases have been reported with 157 deaths as of Sunday.

The virus typically produces only mild symptoms in most people, but can be fatal especially to the elderly or those with compromised immune systems.

If you experience flu-like symptoms, call your local health care provider, stay home and avoid other people, according to recommendations from the health department.
