Kincaid teen, 16, dies in UTV crash

A utility task vehicle (UTV) crash Saturday night claimed the life of a 16-year-old Kincaid teen.

GARNETT — Wyatt Whitham, 16, Kincaid, was killed when the UTV he was driving crashed on a county road west of Garnett Saturday night.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that Whitham, who who was driving the 2015 Polaris utility task vehicle, was southbound on NW Marshall Road and was attempting to turn east onto NW 1750 Road when he struck an embankment, causing the vehicle to overturn onto the driver’s side.

Whitham was declared dead at the scene.

Two passengers were riding with Whitham during the accident, Colton W. Dilley, 15, Garnett, suffered what troopers described as a suspected minor injury. Joseph R. Fagg, 14, Garnett, was not injured.
