14U Club Softball: SEK Vipers

SEK Vipers 14U club softball team competed in the USSSA MOKAN State Tournament last weekend at the Field of Dreams in Basehor and walked away champions.

The team played nine games during the stretch and ended up going 7-2. They went 1-1 in pool play before going 6-1 in bracket play.

In the championship, the Vipers took on the Hiawatha Fireballs — the team that beat them both times earlier in the tournament. SEK beat them 9-1 and then had to play Hiawatha again due to the tournament being double elimination. They won again 6-2 in the final game and clinched the championship.

Throughout the tournament, the Vipers scored 63 runs and allowed only 17.

SEK will wrap up its season at the USSSA National Championship in Topeka on July 18-22.
