Memorial services for Dale Gerald Mitchell, 76, of Bartlesville, Okla., whose death on Tuesday was reported in Friday’s Register, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wesley United Methodist Church in Iola. 
He was born on Jan. 8, 1935, in Iola, to Delbert and Lelia (Hazzard) Mitchell. He was raised in Iola and graduated from Iola High School. He also attended Iola Junior College. He married Kay Linebaugh on May 23, 1954 at Iola. 
He worked for Mack C. Colt Oil Company and then for the Allen County Appraisers office. He later worked as a meat inspector for the Kansas Department of Agriculture untill his retirement in 2000 when he moved to Bartlesville. He was currently driving a school bus for Community Action Resource Development Inc. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Iola, Iola Masonic Lodge, Fort Scott Scottish Rite and Mirza Shrine in Pittsburg. He was a member of Elks Lodge in Iola and past state president of the Kansas Elks Association. He worked with the youth baseball program in Iola for nine years. He liked to hunt and fish.
He is survived by his wife of the home; a son, Greg and his wife, Vicki, Bartlesville; two sisters, Ledell Schaffer, Denver, Colo., and Nadine Finch, Phoenix, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Justin Dowell, Nichole Glover and her husband, Aaron, and Whitney Mitchell, all of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and one great-grandson, Wyatt Glover, Oklahoma City. 
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray, Leo and Ernest, and two sisters, Margarite Ohlfest and June Crane.
A memorial has been established with the Kansas Elks Lodge Training Center, 1006 E. Waterman St., Wichita, KS 67211 or Kansas Elks Sunflower Newspaper.
Cremation arrangements were under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory in Bartlesville.
