PITTSBURG — The Humboldt Lady Cubs got their season started on the right foot after sweeping a pair of tough teams at a triangular in Pittsburg Tuesday.
The Cubs faced perennial powerhouses Jayhawk Linn and St. Mary’s-Colgan.
The opening set against the Jayhawks was a close contest, 25-23. By the second set, the Lady Cubs mounted a 25-16 victory.
The Lady Cubs were in for a dogfight in both sets against St. Mary-Colgan, coming away with a 25-22, 25-23 sweep.
The Lady Cubs will put
their undefeated record on the line Saturday while joining the Iola Mustangs at the Rossville Volleyball Tournament.
