Jayhawks sweep MVJH

It was a rough night for Marmaton Valley Junior High athletes following Monday's sweep by Jayhawk-Linn.

MOUND CITY — Marmaton Valley Junior High’s boys never could get over the proverbial hump Monday. 

Host Jayhawk-Linn took the early lead and fended off every Wildcat challenge from there to win 27-24.

Marmaton Valley had a balanced scoring attack, led by Kaiden Woods with six points. Zayne Endicott, Anthony Sander and Jaren Curl added four points each. Raylan Preston scored two.

The Jayhawks also won the B and C team contests. In B team action, MV fell, 25-6. Endicott had three points, Doug Dix scored two and Oscar Boom one.

The Wildcat C team dropped a 10-8 setback in two quarters. Lucas Sander scored four, while Boom and Kevin Martin had two apiece.

MARMATON VALLEY’S girls had a tough go of it, falling 37-3 in A team action. Layten Blevins hit a 3-pointer for the Wildcats.

Jayhawk-Linn won the two-quarter B team game, 20-2. Kimbree Daum had MV’s two points.

The Wildcats will wrap up the 2025-26 season Thursday at Crest.
