MADISON — Yates Center High’s Brae Adams and Dylan Sicka won 2010 Kansas Class 1A Regional track event titles Friday.
Adams won the regional discus title with a throw of 119 feet, 6 inches. Sicka captured the 1600-meter race in 4 minutes, 45.33 seconds.
Sicka was second in the 3200-meter run in 10:51.13. He also qualified for state in the 800-meter run in 2:07.49.
Yates Center’s Donnie Bennett is going to state in the long jump, placing third in at the regional with 20’ 2 1/2” leap. He is also going in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles as he took second in 41.05.
Cherokee Shaffer earned a trip to the state track meet in the girls’ high jump. She was fourth at the regional , clearing 4’9”.
Bennett was fifth in the 110-meter high hurdles in 15.94 and Sam Aguirre was sixth in 17.90.
