Allen County Bank and Trust in Iola and Citizens State Bank in Moran will be renamed Emprise Bank this fall and become part of the Emprise corporate group, it was announced today.

The Rev. Bradley Smith, pastor of the Iola First Assembly of God Church, his wife, Joy, their children, Aimee, Amber and Adam, and Mrs. Smith’s mother, Geneva Krivohlavek of Springfield, Mo., were in a serious automobile accident Wednesday near St. Joseph, Mo. Mrs. Krivohlavek was killed and Aimee was injured.

Darren Sellman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sellman of Iola and an Iola High School senior, will compete in the National High School Rodeo Finals in Colorado. He qualified by finishing second in bull riding at the Kansas High School Rodeo Finals

HUMBOLDT — Terry Crowell sees interest in car racing as being steady over the past several years. Crowell, who has purchased and reopened the Humboldt Speedway after it was closed for two years, hopes to attract area residents, both racers and spectators, to his track for an evening of entertainment each Friday.
