George and Shirley Catron, Iola, were given a surprise 50th wedding anniversary party on Dec. 31 at St. John’s Parish Hall in Iola hosted by their children.
George Catron and Shirley Gilliland were united in marriage on Dec. 30, 1961, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Iola. The Rev. Colbert officiated. Attendants were Earlene Hagar and Joe Harington.
The Catrons have six children and five grandchildren.
