PITTSBURG — Medicalodges of Pittsburg has permanently closed, according to a report from the Pittsburg Morning Sun. The facility was evacuated in July due to an environmental concern.
“Unfortunately, after consultation with several third parties and discussion with our board of directors, we have made the decision to permanently close Medicalodges Pittsburg,” President and CEO Schott Hines stated in an email, the Morning Sun reported. “This decision did not come easy but the estimated costs to remediate, repair and renovate the facility to address current and future moisture issues is not economically feasible at this time.”
Residents of Medicalodges Pittsburg were moved to the Frontenac location earlier this year, the Morning Sun reported. Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Office Shannon Lager noted the move was a preventative one, and that no health-related incidents were connected to the environmental concern, according to the Morning Sun.
