Joy Tucker, age 93, of Welda, died on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at her home.
Joy Ilean Griffith was born on June 25, 1932, in a farmhouse in Welda, the daughter of Ralph and Velma (Serene) Griffith.
Joy married Ulis “Curly” Tucker Jr. on Oct. 26, 1963, in Kansas City, Kansas.
Joy was preceded in death by her sister, Darlene Steele; brother, Ralph Wesley Griffith; and sons, Ronnie Nokes and John Tucker.
Joy is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ulis “Curly”; children, Katrina Tucker of Welda, Kansas, Trish Hiestand of Topeka, Debbie Tucker of Olathe and Clark Tucker of Welda.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 23, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Garnett. Joy’s family will greet friends an hour prior to the service at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Welda Cemetery, Welda.
Memorial contributions may be made to Welda United Methodist Church, Gentiva Hospice or Angels of Chanute.
