Ronald Barnett, 61, of Garnett, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011 at his home.
He was born June 2, 1950, in Colony, the twin son of Richard Wayne and Carolea (Hinkle) Barnett. He graduated from Garnett High School in 1969.
Ron married Alice Roper on June 6, 1970.
He worked in the oil field for about six years and Regal Manufacturing in Garnett, before he began his 37-year career with the City of Garnett. Ron worked in maintenance as a backhoe operator in the gas and water departments.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Connie Lynn Beck.
He is survived by his wife and a daughter, Amy Kay Cygan and husband Christopher, Spring Hill; a son, Kevin Michael Barnett and wife Chrisandrea, Garnett; four grandchildren, Alex and Carter Cygan and Michael and Trinity Barnett; his twin brother, Richard and wife Vicky, Garnett; two aunts, Helen (Aunt “Toot”) Rockers, Garnett, and Vivian Barnett, Colony; two stepsisters, Christina Beck Nelson and husband Dale of Fairborn, Ohio; and Tanna Barnett, California.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Garnett. Inurnment will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Garnett Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
