CHERRYVALE — The Humboldt Cub softball team had over a week off, but that rust certainly didn’t show in Cherryvale on Tuesday when they swept the Chargers by scores of 18-0 and 21-0.
“I was very happy with our performance,” Humboldt coach Brad Piley said.
In game one, the Cubs had 18 hits in four innings before the run-rule ended the game.

Junior Rylan Wilhite threw four innings and allowed just one hit and one walk with six strikeouts.
In game two, Wilhite and Barker each hit home runs to center field and Wilhite finished with three hits and five RBIs while Barker had two hits and four RBIs.
Kira McReynolds, Makaylah McCall and Mauk each had three hits for the Cubs.
Wilhite pitched all four innings and allowed just two hits with no walks and hit one batter. She finished with six strikeouts.
