The Humboldt Lady Cubs are on a three-game winning streak after handily defeating the Eureka Tornadoes 24-6 and 14-4.
Senior pitcher Shelby Shaughnessy picked up the win in the opener with five strikeouts over three innings while also driving in a team-leading six RBIs, followed by sophomore outfielder Leah Carman and sophomore outfielder Lakyn Meadows, who had three each.
Although it took a bit longer to mercy-rule Eureka in the finale, the Lady Cubs got the job done on a five RBI performance from Shaughnessy, as well as a seven strikeout performance from sophomore pitcher Jo Ellison, who allowed just three earned runs over five innings with five hits. Sophomore outfielder Carlie Weilert was second in runs driven in with three RBIs.
