UNIONTOWN — A 10-day layoff did little to slow Crest High’s high-powered baseball team Thursday.

The Lancers improved to 4-0 with a pair of 13-3 wins over Uniontown. Crest hadn’t played since sweeping Chetopa in a twin bill on March 28.

Plenty of sterling pitching and solid hitting told the tale.

Trevor Church struck out three batters in his only inning of work. Tucker Yocham also pitched a hitless inning, striking out one. Avery Blaufuss was strong, allowing two hits and one earned run over five innings, while striking out 10.

Bryson Goodell smacked a home run, while Church and Holden Barker each had doubles. Ryan Golden, Stetson Setter and Jerry Rodriguez added singles.

Jack White took the hill in game two, and struck out four over four innings, allowing no earned runs and two hits. Kaden Nilges pitched the fifth, allowing one hit and striking out one.

White was the key protagonist at the plate as well, going 2 for 4 with three RBIs and a double. Setter also had a double. Karter Miller, Barker, Goodell, Jacob Zimmerman and Rogan Weir all had singles.

Results from Thursday’s Crest-Uniontown softball games were not immediately available.
