The No. 1 ranked Johnson County Community College Cavaliers remain undefeated after ending the Allen Red Devils’ season with a 4-0 loss Wednesday.
Although holding their own early, trailing by a single goal after the first-period whistle, the Red Devils could not punch through as JCCC ran away with the win.
Despite giving up four goals, Allen sophomore keeper Niamh Ellison held her own. She stopped seven of 11 shots on goal. The Red Devils’ downfall came due to Allen failing to get deep enough into JCCC territory to score. They managed only three shots on goal the entire game. Freshman keeper Catherine Mitchell came on in relief for the final 20 minutes, pitching a shutout of the remainder of the contest but the damage was already done.
With the loss, Allen ends the season with an 8-8-1 record and 3-6-1 in the Jayhawk Conference. With 10 of 23 players expected to graduate or transfer after next spring, including standout strikers Jillian Muehlberger and Charlotte Gatehouse, Allen will have holes to fill before their 2026 debut but plenty of players in place to fill them.
