The Kansas Department of Transportation is currently repairing a short stretch of pavement about 6 miles north of Chanute on U.S. 169 in Allen County.
Work involves full-depth concrete repair at up to four locations in each lane.
The construction zone starts about a mile northeast of 1150 Street and ends north of Arizona Road in Allen County.
A traffic light is guiding one lane of traffic through the work zone, and oversize vehicles may not be allowed through because of a 10-foot-wide lane restriction.
Travelers will experience delays of no more than 10 minutes.
The project is expected to be completed before Memorial Day weekend, conditions permitting.
A similar project on U.S. 169 south of U.S. 54, which started in April, was completed this week.
