LAWRENCE The Kansas Honor Scholar program will honor high-schoolers across the state for their academic achievement.
The program, a longstanding tradition of the University of Kansas Alumni Association and KU Endowment, recognizes students ranking in the top 10 percent of their respective schools. In all, 3,700 high school seniors from 360 high schools in all 105 counties will be honored.
Area honorees:
Iola: Emmie Brant, Ashley Crane, Jonathan Miller, Piper Moore, Cole Regehr, Kassy Shelby and Jennifer Tidd.
Humboldt: Ashlynn Booth, Marisha Collins, Camrie Farran, Aricah McCall and Savanna Puckett.
Marmaton Valley: Elizabeth Johnson, Kari Shadden and Sarah Spillman.
Southern Coffey County: Braelyn Falls and Ashley Nicole Wright.
Crest: Jewel Armstrong, Regan Godderz and Camryn Strickler.
Yates Center: Austin Crabtree, Shayla Gaulding, Maria Jimenez, Nolan Jones, Aaron King, Allison Pringle, Hadley Splechter and Jordan Weseloh.
The scholars and their families have been invited to any of the 14 regional ceremonies across the state scheduled over the next two months, beginning Tuesday in Pittsburg.
