BRANSON, MO. — The community of Branson, Mo., is without a newspaper. The Branson Tri-Lakes News as well as several sister publications closed shop July 16, The Pittsburg Morning Sun reported.
Reporters and staff got the news that their jobs had been eliminated through text messages.
Terse notices, “Closed permanently,” were posted on the newspapers’ locked doors. The other papers involved are the Stone County Republican-Crane Chronicle and the Barry County Advertiser.
