The Iola Hormigas remain winless following Monday’s 18-8 loss to the Garden City Wind in the Hormigas’ home opener.

The upstart Hormigas sit at 0-6 after opening the season on the wrong end of a sweep to the Blackwell Flycatchers 4-2, 15-13 and 19-3. They opened the first game of their six-game series Sunday at Satchel Paige Stadium in Kansas City with a 9-5 loss to the Wind, then fell 18-8 Monday at the ACC fields.

Due to inclement weather, league officials called off Tuesday’s game but Wednesday’s 6 p.m. game against Garden City on schedule.
