Marmaton Valley boys can’t find answers at Northeast

The Wildcats had very few answers for a Northeast team which went on quite the scoring runs including a 21-8 run in the second half and four different scorers who finished in double figures.

ARMA — Marmaton Valley High had few answers Tuesday for Northeast High’s second-half offense.

The host Vikings of Arma turned on the jets after intermission, scoring 39 points in a 69-50 win.

The defeat drops Marmaton Valley to 5-12 on the season.

Northeast held a 30-25 lead at the break, but put together a 21-8 run spanning the third quarter to take command, 51-33.

Tyler Lord paced the Wildcats in defeat, pouring in 18 points, including 13 of 15 foul shooting. Dylan Drake followed with 14, and Jaedon Granere scored nine.

Four Viking players reached double figures, led by Brendon Alters with 19 and Dawson Troth with 18.

Marmaton Valley resumes play Friday at home against Altoona-Midway.
