MVJH Wildcats compete

Marmaton Valley Junior High’s volleyball team won two of three matches on the road Thursday.

ST. PAUL — Marmaton Valley Junior High’s volleyball team won two of three matches on the road Thursday.

The Wildcat A team won in three sets, 25-12, 28-25 and 25-3, while the B team rolled to 15-2 and 15-8 set victories.

St. Paul won 15-5 in the C team matchup.

Jacee Mattox was the primary protagonist for the Wildcat A team, racking up 25 points and four aces. Kylah Sander was next with 15 points. Taelan Ginder added two points and an ace. Braelyn Sutton added five points, Shelby Sprague notched two points and Andie Carr one.

Jetta Matthews led Marmaton Valley’s B-teamers with 10 points and three aces. Layla Cook was next with two points and two aces. Evva Sander and Kaya Boone added two points each. Scoring one point were Alayna Cook, Addisyn Drake, Gabby Briggs and Bella Winner.

All of Marmaton Valley’s points in the C team contest came on serve receives.

“I thought the girls all played well,” Wildcat head coach Brenda Mills “The girls are working on their passing and communicating.”

Marmaton Valley returns to action Thursday at Yates Center.
